Meet Your 2017-2018 Fire Rescue Foundation
Scholarship Recipients

The Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation awarded three $2,000 scholarships to children of Marco Island’s firefighters / EMTs. Read in their own words how valuable your contributions were to the education and future of these students. Thank you for supporting the Annual Cruise Raffle that makes these scholarships possible. Also, thank you to our partner, the Island Country Club, for their generous grant.

As a sophomore at Columbia College, Chicago, I am a musical theatre major and will use this scholarship to pay for classes, scripts and textbooks. I am thrilled to once again be chosen by the Marco Island Fire Rescue community.

Joe Byrne, Columbia College, Chicago

I am in my second semester here at THE Ohio State University and loving every second while working towards a double degree with a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Strategic Communication. I am a member of the Politics, Society, and Law Scholars Program on campus and live on the same floor as the other first-year members from the program. I am also a Committee Representative for the committee on Health and Safety in the Ohio State Undergraduate Student Government. In the coming weeks, I am planning to run for On-Campus Senator for the General Assembly run under USG. In my free time, I love to read new books and go to the independent film center right down the road. The Fire Foundation scholarship allowed me to buy a meal plan and textbooks for this year! Thank you all so much for your support!
